Workshop cooking Cojimar – Havana
What is a better way to experience Cuban cuisine than to learn how to cook a traditional Cuban dish and eat it yourself afterwards.
You start with a visit to a local herb grower, where you can learn more about the growing process of hand-selected herbs that you will use later.
Once in the restaurant, there will be a short presentation about the origins and history of Cuban cuisine while you relax on the restaurant’s patio.
After the presentation, prepare some local dishes with the help of the chefs, such as “Ropa Vieja” (shredded beef), lobster & shrimp Enchilado and “Ajiaco” (typical soup based on Cuban carrot soup).
While the dishes are cooking, you will also learn how to make your own Mojito, one of Cuba’s most distinctive cocktails.
Now that you are done with a cocktail in your hand, you will have a lunch consisting of the dishes you have just prepared and a wide range of side dishes such as; rice, salad, beans, yucca, bread and ajiaco. National drinks are included, as well as a wide variety of typical Cuban desserts, traditional Cuban coffee and old rum plus a Cuban cigar to end the meal well.
As a reward you will receive a certificate from the Cuban kitchen chef to take home, along with the beautiful memories (and a full belly!).
